A young adult nature novel, based on a Wild Kingdom television production, this is the story of the wildlife and plants that live a precarious existence in the swampy bayou country of Louisiana, showing their interrelationships and interdependence upon one another in the balance of nature. Many beautiful illustrations by John Cellini. Originally written for Don Meier Productions, Chicago, Illinois, and published in 1967 by Doubleday, New York City.
