This young adult novel is a sequel to Incident at Hawk's Hill and deals with the further adventures of little Ben MacDonald, who again runs afoul of the brutal trapper George Burton.  In trying to escape, he runs into a variety of hazards and ends up in the hands of Indians hostile to the whites, while his family mounts search and rescue attempts.  Published in hardcover in May, 1998, by Little, Brown and Co., Boston, MA.
