Volume II in The Mesmerian Annals Series finds the twins, Lara and Barnaby, after returning to their own dimension, accidentally wandering right back into Mesmeria again, but now in an entirelydifferent time frame and with a situation existing that is even more dreadful and dangerous and the threat to their own lives far more immediate. Joining forces with some strange and wonderful creatures and people, they set about on a search to recover a hidden magic wand which, properly employed, has the chance of rescuing the imprisoned good Queen Mag Namodder. To do so, however, they must recover the wand from where it was hidden in Castle Thorkin after having been stolen and, if they can get it, they must then venture into the terrible world called Twilandia inhabited by dreaded beings who will try to destroy them on sight.
